Further, it has been shown that investments in education,
particularly basic education, is a key factor in the development process
since people are the most vital input to peace, stability and development.
It will significantly contribute to improving health, stabilizing
population and increasing sound environmental management.
Somalia, as we know, is rural nation, in the sense that
an overwhelming majority of its population lives in the rural or semi-rural
areas.
Therefore, SCERDO believes that
education and rural development is a pre-requisite for the social and economic
